This problem is known - has been reported many times, nobody in HP seems to care

Everyone is complaining about this, take look:

This Poly Studio USB doesn't work out of the box,  after I launch Poly Lens crappy software the new device is not detected.

 

You have to struggle to find a download link for Poly Companion (retired software...but ITS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT WORK!!!)

 

 After launching Poly Companion it detects the device in DFU mode. I install the software (1.5), all looks well, but after the software update is done....back to pulsing yellow light (DFU MODE).

 

Now according to the article from the support forum mentioned above, I should download  firmware version 1.4.0

and send it to the device via Poly Companion and then use Poly Lens to update do version 2.1

 

The download links for version 1.4.0 does not exist anymore - good job HP !!!
