Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Team

I am using Smart Tank Plus 651 printer from the 3-4 years. I never experienced any issue. But recently I noticed, my double side print option "print double sided on short/long edge" has been replaced with "Manually print on both sides".

I always try to use both side of the papers, but this new option does not work for me.. When it completes with one side printing.. it never prompts to flip the pages and reload.

Please advise, what should I do to bring my old option.

Hi @Sam08131983,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there may have been a software update or a change in settings that affected the printing options on your Smart Tank Plus 651 printer. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve this issue.

  • Check Printer Settings: First, ensure that the printer settings on your computer or device are correctly configured for double-sided printing. Sometimes, updates or changes can reset these settings. You can usually find these settings in the print dialog box when you go to print a document.
  • Printer Driver Update: Check if there are any updates available for your printer driver. Sometimes, updates can include new features or options, so updating the driver might restore the double-sided printing functionality you're accustomed to.
  • Printer Firmware Update: Similarly, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes address compatibility issues or introduce new features.
  • Reset Printer Settings: If you're unable to find the previous double-sided printing option, you might consider resetting the printer settings to their default values. This should revert any changes that may have been made inadvertently.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue and regain access to the double-sided printing option you're accustomed to.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
