HP Software Framework is not installed/ High memory consumption by HotKey UWP

The following article will provide you with instructions on how to resolve two issues related to HP Hotkey Support.

The first error would be the one that says that the HP Software Framework is not installed or is not running. If your computer is showing a pop-up window like the one in the image below, this document will be of great help.

The second issue that can also be resolved with the following steps would be the high memory consumption by HotKtey UWP. If you have noticed high CPU and memory consumption by HotKey UWP in your task manager, this article may also be useful.

Now that you have already identified one of the failures presented above, let's move on to the sequence of steps that can bring you the solution.

Update available drivers through HP Support Assistant

Click here to access the Support Assistant page and download. If you have already downloaded the tool, proceed to the next steps:

NOTE: Make sure you are using HP Support Assistant version 8 or later. If this version of the application is not installed on your computer, download the latest version from the HP Support Assistant website.

  • In Windows, search for and open the HP Support Assistant tool or click the app icon on the taskbar.
  • On the My Dashboard tab, select the computer and click Updates.
  • Wait while the HP Support Assistant tool analyzes the system.
  • After the analysis is complete, select, download and install the listed updates; then observe the instructions displayed on the screen.
  • If prompted, restart your computer and close the tool.

Install the HP Hotkey Support Driver

If your hotkeys still have problems, you can download the latest version of the HP Hotkey Support software from our Official Website.

To search for the driver on the website you must know the serial number of your computer, click on the following link for more information: Find product and serial numbers for HP computers, printers and accessories.

Within the official website, you must click on Software and Drivers> Enter your serial number> after that, you will have the list of compatible and available drivers for your product as shown in the following image:

Important information: Your antivirus may be related to the high memory consumption of the HP Hotkey UWP

It is possible that a virus or malware is interfering with the HP HotKey UWP service. This may be resulting in high CPU and memory consumption on your PC. To resolve this problem, you must check your antivirus and if it finds something, it must be corrected.

Still in relation to high memory consumption, if you have commercial equipment and even after the previous steps this issue has not been resolved, I will leave two links that could be very useful:
