HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 (754F8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

When the laptop operates on AC power, there are no issues. When it operates on battery, it has issues connection to wifi, and sometimes bluetooth too. This has been happening for like a month now. Before, there were no issues.

Hi @Christinexxx1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP ENVY Laptop 16-h1090nd is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi when operating on battery, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check Power Saving Settings: Sometimes, power-saving settings can affect Wi-Fi performance. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Select "Change plan settings" for your current power plan, then "Change advanced power settings." Look for options related to wireless adapter settings and set them to "Maximum Performance" or a similar setting.

Update Wi-Fi Drivers: Ensure that your Wi-Fi drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support website for your specific laptop model.

Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. This will reset all network adapters and settings to their default values. Restart your laptop after resetting.

Check Wi-Fi Adapter Properties: Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager." Expand the "Network adapters" section, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and select "Properties." In the Power Management tab, uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.

Disable Power Saving for the Wi-Fi Adapter: In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, select "Properties," and go to the Power Management tab. Uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.

Check for BIOS Updates: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any BIOS updates available for your laptop. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.

Reset Power Management Settings: Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:

Restart your computer after running these commands.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, there may be a hardware problem with the Wi-Fi adapter or the laptop's power management system. In this case, it's best to contact HP support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
