Eltebook 850 G2

Hi,

I need help.

I tried to calibrate the battery of an elitebook 850 g2 and I obviously made a mistake while pulling the AC-adapter cable too early after I started and shut down the system with the battery nearly  empty.

Now, when I try to start, on the front the green Light is on, the yellow light blinks, but the bios won´t start.. Nothing happens on the screen. I suppose, the bios is corrupted. Some efforts to start bios recovery with various key combinations failed.

Therefore I wanted to disconnect the CMOS battery to force a bios reset.

But where is the CMOS battery located? According to the service manual, it should be under the main  battery. But there is nothing to see which resembles a  CMOS battery.

Where can I find it? .

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did as  adviced in the service manual:

Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4. Remove the service cover (see Service covr on page 47).

 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 49.
Remove the RTC battery:

1.  Disconnect the RTC battery cable (1) from the system board.

 2. Slide the battery out from the bottom cover (2), and then remove the battery (3). (The RTC battery is attached to the base enclosure with double-sided adhesive.)

 3. Remove the RTC battery.

There is no cmos battery. (see fotos. laptop/mainboard without main battery )

Is there anyone who knows, where the cmos battery is hidden?

Any help appreciated.

best wishes!

See the small round piece circled in red in the screenshot below. It looks like a RTC battery.
