when i was attempting to diagnose why my charger was not working suddenly it started working again, i attempted to turn it on but it went into a power loop a few times before giving the caps lock 3 short blinks - 5 long blinks error. i attempted to do what i thought was a hard reset (unplug battery, hold power button for 10 seconds, plug charger in and then press the power button again) after i did that i heard a sizzle, quickly unplugged the charger and noticed a weird smell. im somewhat sure something is fried and im mainly wondering how much is a repair going to cost or even if a repair is worth it?

my laptop is 4ish years old and ive replaced user serviceable parts myself (stick of ram, stick ssd, DC jack) this is the first time ive had an un-serviceable part fail.
