OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xd0000 (758R0AV)

Bought an OMEN 16" Gaming Laptop one month ago and was very happy with it up until yesterday, when I started running into issues regarding the laptop display. The display built in to the laptop shows the boot screen upon power up, the screen backlight illuminates, but then the display goes black and nothing shows. External monitors have an image when connected, but I am getting nothing on the laptop display.

Windows and the device drivers are all fully up to date. The laptop display will appear in safe mode but not during a full boot.

The device is the Ryzen 7 variant with an RTX 4050.

I did a reinstall of Windows 11 on the device, which appeared to be working initially, however after connecting the device to the internet via Ethernet and initiating a full install of all drivers and windows updates, the screen laptop screen went black again half way through updating and installing all of the drivers.

I have since been reading that there appears to be a hardware defect with these laptops and that this issue is very common. Any guidance to rectifying would be appreciated, is there a software remedy I can do or is repair by HP required?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.

This looks like a hardware issue.

Since you have tried all the possible troubleshooting and driver updates and reinstalling of windows 11, I recommend you contact phone support for service options.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
