Hi all,

 

Im looking to upgrade the parts on my OMEN 25L, specificly the CPU to Ryzen 9 7900x3D.

 

What parts do I need to change and are there any recommendations for parts to change?

 

What is the most upgradable CPU with the current motherboard?

The best processor that would be compatible with your OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0000a as fitted with a Moria3 motherboard (SSID: 87C3), would be a Ryzen 9 3900 (3.10 GHz up to 4.30 GHz, 12-Cores, 24-Threads) :

Mind you, NOT the Ryzen 9 3900X, which isn't compatible.

 

A Ryzen 9 7900x3D is not compatible with your motherboard either.

Thank you for your help,

 

I wanted to know what motherboard I could get that fits the PC case along with the other parts (apart from the CPU) to support the Ryzen 9 7900x3D.

 

If possible, I want to keep the RAM.

@the104dogs,

 

I could be mistaken -but I don't think there is currently an HP motherboard that is compatible with the Ryzen 9 7900x3D.

 

You'll likely have to look for an X670 or B650 chipset Asus, MSI, GigaByte, or Asrock gaming motherboard.
