I recently got an Omen photon, and for some reason, this boy won't work without its cable. Initially, it was working fine and now has stopped charging with any cable; however, it works when plugged into the computer but won't charge. Please suggest what I should do.

Hi @Ketandiwakar125,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing charging issues with your Omen Photon wireless mouse. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the problem:

Check the Charging Cable and Dock: Ensure that the charging cable and dock are properly connected and not damaged. Try using a different USB port on your computer or a different cable if available to rule out a faulty connection.

Clean the Charging Contacts: Sometimes, dirt or debris on the charging contacts of the mouse or the dock can prevent proper charging. Gently clean the contacts with a dry, soft cloth or a can of compressed air.

Reset the Mouse: Look for a reset button on the mouse or refer to the user manual for instructions on how to reset your mouse. This can sometimes resolve charging and connectivity issues.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your mouse and its software are up to date. Omen Command Center or HP Support Assistant can be used to check for firmware updates for your device.

Try a Different Charging Method: If your mouse supports it, try charging it with a different method than you normally would, such as a different dock or a direct connection to a different USB port.

Battery Health: Consider that the battery's health might have deteriorated. Rechargeable batteries do have a lifespan and can start to hold less charge over time. If your device is still under warranty, you might be able to get the battery replaced by HP.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I think there may be an issue with the charging port or the battery itself. Clean the charging port with compressed air and ensure the cable is securely plugged in.  If this doesn't solve the issue, it's likely a hardware problem. Click here to see the complete documentation.
