Hi @OliJr,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blinking orange light on your 4100 series printer, accompanied by an "E" on the printer's display, typically indicates an error condition. The specifics can vary based on the exact model of your printer, but here are some general troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Carefully remove any jammed paper or foreign objects you find.

Inspect Ink or Toner Cartridges: A blinking orange light can also indicate issues with ink or toner cartridges. Make sure the cartridges are properly installed and that they have not run out of ink or toner. Replace any cartridges that are empty.

Look at the Error Code: If there is an "E" followed by a number, this number can give more specific information about the error. Refer to the printer's manual for an explanation of the error codes.

Check for Loose Connections: Ensure that all cables connected to the printer are secure. This includes the power cable and any data cables connecting the printer to your computer or network.

Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes a simple reset can clear the error.

Consult the User Manual: If you have the printer’s manual, refer to it for specific instructions related to the blinking orange light and the error message.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
