HP ENVY 7855

I have an HP ENVY 7855 printer and it is stuck at the logo screen from boot up. The far left dot is colored blue while the others remain un-filled (white). I've reviewed other cases (links below) and believe that I either need to perform a "Semi-Full Reset" or replace the printer. I've attempted multiple power drains and basic power cycles, all of which result in the same error persisting. I believe that someone from HP needs to provide instructions for performing this "Semi-Full Reset" as there are concerns about users bricking printers. Can someone from HP please reach out to me with either these instructions of alternate solutions?

Hi @DRHEAUME,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already done some troubleshooting steps, but it's frustrating to still be stuck at the same point. If you're considering a semi-full reset, it's indeed a more significant step, and it's wise to proceed cautiously.

Here are some general steps to perform a semi-full reset on an HP ENVY 7855 printer.

  • Turn off the printer: Ensure the printer is powered off completely.
  • Disconnect power cord: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow any residual power to drain.
  • Press and hold buttons: While the power cord is disconnected, press and hold the power button on the printer for about 30 seconds. While holding the power button, also press and hold the cancel button.
  • Reconnect power cord: After holding the buttons for 30 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
  • Release buttons: Release the power button and the cancel button.
  • Turn on the printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer and see if the issue persists.

Performing these steps might reset the printer to its default settings, potentially resolving the issue. However, be aware that this process might also delete any personalized settings or configurations you've made on the printer.

If the semi-full reset doesn't resolve the issue and the printer remains stuck at the logo screen, it's possible there's a more serious hardware problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden. Unfortunately this did not resolve the issue and the printer is still stuck at the logo screen. Do you have any alternate solutions?
