Hi @Jannoethe,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, you can typically connect a printer to a computer using a USB cable even if it's already connected to Wi-Fi. This is a common setup and allows for flexibility in how you use your printer. Here's what you can do.

  • Connect the USB cable: Simply plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer and the other end into the USB port on your HP OfficeJet 7612 printer.
  • Install drivers (if necessary): Depending on your operating system, you may need to install drivers for the printer to work over USB. Usually, Windows or macOS will automatically detect the printer and install the necessary drivers, but you may need to follow additional steps if prompted.
  • Select the printer: Once connected, your computer should recognize the printer as a new device. You may need to select the printer as your default printing device if you have other printers connected.
  • Print: After the printer is set up, you should be able to print documents from your computer using the USB connection.

Keep in mind that when you connect your printer via USB, it may temporarily disable the Wi-Fi connection, depending on the printer model and its settings. However, this shouldn't affect your ability to print from your computer using the USB connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
