Hi @Krish58,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the sound on your HP Pavilion laptop is gradually decreasing, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Volume Settings: Make sure that the volume settings on your laptop are not turned down or muted. You can adjust the volume by clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray or by accessing the sound settings in the control panel.
  • Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or corrupt audio drivers can sometimes cause issues with sound output. You can update your audio drivers through the Device Manager in Windows or by downloading the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Inspect Audio Hardware: Check if there's any physical damage to the laptop's speakers or audio jack. Dust and debris can also affect sound quality, so consider cleaning the speakers and audio ports carefully.
  • Run Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in audio troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix common sound issues. You can access it by right-clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray and selecting "Troubleshoot sound problems".
  • Disable Audio Enhancements: Sometimes, audio enhancements or effects can interfere with sound output. You can disable these enhancements by right-clicking on the speaker icon, selecting "Playback devices", choosing your audio device, and navigating to the "Enhancements" tab.
  • Perform a System Restore: If the issue started recently after a software update or installation, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when the sound was working correctly.
  • Hardware Issues: If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with your laptop's audio components.

By going through these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with decreasing sound on your HP Pavilion laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
