Product: HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew1000 RCTO Base Model
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Previously working headphone mic jack is not responding to mic. I am a court reporting student and had my instructor’s tech dept run tests and basically, my jack is faulty. Anyone else have this problem and how was it fixed dyi. Other than that, it’s under warranty so I’ll have to swap out, but still fear the same problem will arise once out in the field of court reporting - which would be a total nightmare

Do you mean a stand alone microphone ? This won't work, you have to use Y splitter such as

 

                 StarTech 3.5MM Stereo Splitter Adapter

No, it’s a headset we use in remote work.  It was working before and just stopped. Wondered if anyone else ran into the same problem
