I downloaded the Windows 11 update 22H2 and after restarting, my audio drivers are not recognized....no speakers or microphone. I have downloaded every update and updated my drivers manually and nothing is working. Please help!

Try this fix from a different post - worked for all my laptops - h/t to Jellingtonbean!

Update: several more hours of fiddling and fretting later and I HAVE FIXED IT!!

All the tips and suggestions I read and was given were pointing me to the wrong device drivers for my issue.  For me, it was the Intel Smart Sound Technology  (Intel (R) SST) OED, way way down the Device Manager list, under System Devices, which was displaying a tiny yellow warning triangle.  I updated that driver (it was found automatically) and my sound is back on.

I hope this will help someone else.

Thank you. Wish I had come across your solution before I foolishly followed HP Support protocols.

Came across this/your solution after following the nonsense from HP Support Assistant, which had me install HP Virtual Assistant, App this and the other, run HP diagnostic's, followed by Windows diagnostics, etc.  I even had to install HP Virtual Assistant had directed me to install the HP Recovery Manager, not available for model, and which has been replaced by their 'so called' cloud version. Still installs locally, and worse needs USB pen drive, which is not mentioned as a pre-req.
