Hello,

I've had this laptop since September 2023 I've never installed Windows. It used to had Ubuntu 22.04 LTS but I changed it to Arch Linux to see if it fixed the issues, which it did not. I have two issues:

The first issue is that ocasionally, when trying to shutdown the laptop, the process goes normally, linux shutdown logs appear on screen and then the screen turns off, as expected, but then it stops there, fans are still working and the power button light is still on, and it stays like this permanently, so I have to force shutdown by pressing the button.

The second issue is that, also ocasionally, my system will crash. The process goes as follows, in this order:

  1. The screen freezes and all inputs stop working (even REISUB)
  2. Audio hangs (loops the latest audio output)
  3. (Sometimes) The system forcefully reboots itself, as in, the laptop turns off and then it turns on again on its own.

The journal logs closest to the system crash's timeframe are the following:

I tried running memtest (albeit I never left it running more than a couple hours), and HP's built-in hardware diagnostic tools (the ones that I can access from the boot menu). I would like to check if I have to update the firmware, the BIOS or drivers, however, I found that these are only available for Windows 10/11.

95% of the crashes happen when running an Android emulator (Genymotion). The other times it has crashed has been while playing a videogame.

I would appreciate any tips you could provide to troubleshoot these issues so I can grasp where the problem is coming from.

Thanks to everyone in advance, and have a great day!
