Well, well. Omen Gaming Hub has been nagging me forever to clean junk files and I always refused. Today I was studying for an exam so I decided to just let it do its thing and I told it to empty the recycle bin and clear the system cache. But oh no! YOUR TRASH APP decided my whole downloads folder was cache and deleted it. Like what in God's name is wrong with you people? How on earth do create an app that deletes a user's files?  THIS IS RIDICULOUS. CURRENTLY TRYING TO USE FILE RECOVERY SOFTWARE TO RETRIEVE THE DATA. I ALWAYS TOLD FRIENDS TO AVOID HP ESPECIALLY YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PRINTERS BUT THIS IS THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN. THIS LAPTOP WILL BE THE LAST PRODUCT FROM HP I AM BUYING.

Jeez. I notice this has been a problem looking at a post from some years ago and you guys did not even bother to fix this

Hi @AngryGuy37,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your files that got deleted after performing a clean up using the HP omen gaming hub.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble you are going through.

-Perform a power drain on your PC.

1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.

2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.

5) Power on the PC

-Kindly refer to the steps on this link to perform a system restore and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thanks for the tips. But I have long deleted OMEN gaming hub.  I don't think I will be installing it again.
