HP 920 Ergonomic Vertical Mouse Wireless Bluetooth 5.3 & USB Dongle

I was using HP 920 Ergonomic Vertical Mouse, with 5 programmable buttons, and was using it with USB Dongle, on Windows 10.

One of the buttons (4) was programmed on Ctrl+V and when I clicked it ONCE it continued to trigger as if i clicked it 10 times per second, I didn't understand what was going on at once, so after 5 seconds I pulled out USB Dongle and it stopped, by this time I pasted the text from buffer on every single place where I tried to click (Start button search input, another documents etc.).

Hi @yar2024,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you encountered a bug or malfunction with your HP 920 Ergonomic Vertical Mouse, specifically with one of its programmable buttons. Here are a few steps and considerations to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Ensure that your mouse drivers are up to date. HP often release updates to fix bugs or improve performance. You can check for updates on the HP website or through the Device Manager in Windows.

Reprogram the Button:

  • Try reprogramming the problematic button. It's possible that the programming did not set correctly or got corrupted. Use the software provided by HP to assign the Ctrl+V command again and see if the issue persists.

Test on Another Computer:

  • If possible, test the mouse on a different computer. This can help you determine if the issue is with the mouse itself or specific to your computer's configuration.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Sometimes, other software on your computer can interfere with the functionality of input devices. Consider any recent software installations that might conflict with your mouse's software.

Reset or Update the Mouse Firmware:

  • Some mice have internal firmware that can be updated or reset. Check the HP support site or the user manual for instructions on how to do this for your specific model.

Use Windows Mouse Settings for Troubleshooting:

  • Windows has built-in settings for configuring and troubleshooting mice. You can access these settings through the Control Panel under "Hardware and Sound" and then "Devices and Printers". From there, find your mouse, right-click, and select "Mouse settings" to access additional options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
