HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Desktop Computer, HP 570-p054, upgraded RAM from 4GB (DDR4-2400 SDRAM) to 8GB (Crucial DD4-2400 UDIMM).  Now the computer just beeps, 3 long and 2 short.  Removed new RAM and reinstalled old 4GB RAM, Computer still beeps the 3 long and 2 short.

Hi @rcedeux

Welcome back to the Forum.

Memory modules recommended by Crucial usually work with HP MBs.

Seeing a POST memory error after reinstalling the HP memory would suggest the memory modules are not installed in the memory slots correctly or you have a memory slot problem.

Try each stick of HP memory, one at a time, in each memory slot. Make sure each memory module is fully seated and the memory slot  retention clips are fully engaged.

Start the PC each time to check for a good POST.

Bill,

First thank you for responding to my need for HELP.  Turns out, you were correct in your assumption.  Reinstalled the cards with much greater force than I initially thought necessary, read somewhere, somewhere between 20/30 pounds pressure.  All is well and back up and running.

Again, thanks

Richard
