Voyager 5200 UC USB-A

Again, a new firmware update for the Voyager 5200 UC charge case has been announced:

Version 3151 from April, 15th, 2024:

https://docs.poly.com/bundle/voyager5200-charge-case-top/page/voyager-5200-charge-case-3151-software...

However, I do not get this update via Poly Lens v3.2. The last update being offered to me for the charge case ist v3121.

@HP: could you please correct this issue?

Hopefully, the battery drain issue, the boot loader issue and the really bad designed LED signalling (*) has been improved finally. But I do not believe in that anymore. The headset is very good, the bluetooth adapter also, but the charge case is really trash. I you do not charge the case very often it looses it's energy. That's normal. But what is not normal: If the charge case has no battery anymore it's often impossible to recharge it with a normal portable charger. The red LED just blinks or is off. Why? Because the firmware of the charge case "crashes" and does not "reboot". It has to be "rebootet" when beeing plugged in a computer with Poly Lens software.

(*) Bad LED signaling means: If the battery changes from middle to low to really low, the LEDs do not reflect theses state changes in a good way. Two red LEDs mean middle AND low battery. The 'really low' state is beeing shown by a single red LED, and this normally means: it's too late. What I am missing is just a single blue LED, signalling that's it really time to charge the case but not: it's too late to charge my headset a little bit.

Hello @thor_a Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

Could you please uninstall the Poly Lens application and reinstall it and try checking for firmware updates? Also, please try installing the Ply Lens application on a different PC and let me know if you can update the headset to the latest firmware.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance. If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution more easily by giving Kudos/Thumbs Up and marking my post as an Accepted Solution.

Hello Meghana,

a reinstallation was not necessary. The solution was very easy: restarting Poly Lens 1.3.2 was enough.

After the restart it founds the charge case firmware update.

IMO this is a software bug. Poly Lens should search for actualized software always when a new device is being plugged in.

But thanks for your hint to reproduce the behaviour on another PC - I should have thought earlier of this easy verification.

Thorsten
